I’m a huge fan of the Hannibal books by Thomas Harris and the Anthony Hopkins movies, but I haven’t been watching the new series because Tumblr makes it look like every “two average good looks white dudes backsass each other, one is always exasperated” show I don’t care about
“Sherlock: Cannibalism edition”
I sincerely hope the comment about Hannibal getting a Sherlock-like following on tumblr isn’t true. I thought Sherlock was okay, but it’s one of the few instances where I let the fandom kill whatever enjoyment I had for the show. I really enjoy Hannibal, it’s the only show I make an effort to watch on live TV. It’s slow to start, but Mads Mikkelsen made it all worth it.

I am so disgusted by some of the asshole comments on here. I’m not a religious person because I don’t feel like I need religion in my life. But I can understand why someone would want to feel like they have the unanswered questions answered. Let others have their comfort and their spirituality, why get on your high horse and lecture them about how misguided they are? How is that any better than bible-thumpers? Different terms, same shit attitude.
What the fuck is so hard to understand about holding your own beliefs while respecting other people’s rights to have their own? Isn’t that what we’re asking the people opposed to gay marriage to do?
The only reason someone would use a bible like that is to be an asshole. Yeah, there’s a plethora of I’M SO CLEVER AND EDGY comments saying how it’s just a fucking book, chill. It’s just a book to you, but it is an important symbol to someone else. The only reason someone would post that picture is to be hateful to those people who feel this is sacred. Otherwise they just would have used their ‘plate’ and not spread it about the internet. They just wanted to boast about their hatred and it’s disgraceful. I am so fucking sick of seeing people asking for tolerance when they’re incapable of showing any themselves.

As an Albertan, it’s kind of shitty that the ideals of one asshole is enough to make someone say they’re glad they left Alberta. We’re not all racist pricks. I admit I’m not crazy over the highway blockades. Anything that can impede emergency vehicles just isn’t a good idea. But Idle No More is right in saying it’s an issue for all of Alberta (not just first nations). So can we please hold one jerk-face accountable for his rant and not Alberta?
